Some love stories begin with a single moment. Ours began long before we ever realized it. We grew up side by side, attending East Rankin Academy together from K4 all the way through our senior year of high school. For years, we shared classrooms, hallways, and the simple rhythms of growing up in the same place. At the time, we were simply friends — never quite realizing that the Lord was quietly weaving our lives together in ways we could not yet see. As the years passed, our friendship grew into something steady and familiar. Elijah’s calm nature, patient heart, and quiet kindness balanced perfectly with Halle’s joyful spirit and love for the people around her. Even before we began dating, there was already a foundation of friendship and trust that the Lord had been building over time. During our senior year, Elijah asked Halle to prom, and what seemed like a simple invitation would end up changing everything. Somewhere between the laughter, the music, and the moment Elijah’s gum somehow ended up stuck in Halle’s hair during a slow dance, something shifted. What began as two friends sharing a night together slowly started to feel like the beginning of something much deeper. On June 10, 2021, that friendship officially became a relationship. From that day forward, our story continued to unfold in ways we never could have planned. Through every season, we have learned to grow together — encouraging one another, laughing often, and continually pointing each other back to the Lord. Elijah’s love for Scripture and his steady faith have shaped our relationship in countless ways, while Halle’s warmth and joyful heart have filled our life together with light. Over the years, we have come to understand that the most beautiful parts of love are often found in the quiet, ordinary moments — the conversations, the laughter, the prayers, and the ways we choose each other day after day. On October 12, 2025, Elijah asked Halle to spend forever with him, and with full and grateful hearts we said yes to the future the Lord had been preparing for us all along. Looking back, it is clear that our story was unfolding long before we ever recognized it. What began as a childhood friendship has grown into a love rooted deeply in faith, patience, and joy. We are endlessly thankful for the path that led us to one another and for the Lord’s perfect timing in bringing our hearts together. Now, with excitement and gratitude, we look forward to the next chapter — building a life, a home, and a family together, always guided by the love and grace that first brought us here.
